Introduction:
MCA welcomes the cemetery organization in their attempt to digitize their processes and create a better legacy for the future generations to utilize and appreciate.
For new cemeteries to be loaded onto the Muslim Cemeteries App, {https://app.muslimgraves.com/cemeteries} we recommend they follow the guidelines and pay close attention to the prerequisites.
In summary the take on project consists of 6 phases, with the last phase being the training of the staff then the activation of the App. The App follows a strict workflow process with intermediate checks before the next step.
THE PROJECT
The following phases each have set prerequisites that the cemetery organization must adhere to that will facilitate a smooth take on and speedy activation of the App. Each phase tabulates the action and the resource.

Phase #1
1.Infrastructure Audit – MCA Resource
Visit the cemetery and do an audit of WIFI infrastructure, facilities and technology hardware and software.
Prerequisites:
- Safe Location/Office to install equipment
- Location/Office to have electricity available
- Approximate Square Metres of Erf
- Access to Staff and Supervisor
Phase #2
2.GIS Project – Parker Survey Company
(Optional – The Parker Survey Company will record all the visible gravestones with accurate GPS equipment, then have the data captured into a spreadsheet for upload)
Note: The App can do the above using the CAPTURE function
Prerequisites:
- The number of Blocks in the cemetery
- The number of Gates
Phase #3
3.Bulk Document Scanning - Via the Document Warehouse Company
Recommended – To have burial documents scanned professionally, then to have the scanned documents and the index file uploaded.
Prerequisites:
- Have the burial documents scanned professionally. Subsequently, ensure the scanned documents and the index file are uploaded.
- Documents to be batched by burial and burial type
- Documents indexed on Name, Surname, RSA ID & DoD
- Document Name = RSA ID_Full Names_Sequence Number
Phase #4
4.Matching/Reformat Process – MCA Resources
Do a visual check of G.I.S spreadsheet with matching photos.
Do a validation check of document index file.
Reformat files ready for upload.
Prerequisites:
- Files match based on number of records
- Cemetery Supervisor agree to updates
- Sign Off by cemetery of upload
Phase #5
5.Business Processes – MCA Resource
Interview Cemetery Supervisor and Staff to understand the current burial process and technology qualifications.
Prerequisites:
- Recommend improvements to correlate with app version (LITE or FULL)
- Availability of Staff and Supervisor
- Access to documents
- Supervisor authorised to approve & implement changes
- Sign off by Cemetery

Ensure all App requirements are in place before activation.

The MCA App contains functionality for a complete workflow (i.e. The Full version) or limited workflow (i.e. The LITE version). The cemetery can choose which version they wish to implement, based on the following descriptions.

- Select registered undertaker
- ID documentation uploaded

- Attach headstone photograph & GPS

- All Role Players are registered on the App.

- Search to see if the grave is listed
- Capture & photograph the grave with headstone
- Select & Capture the GPS
- Burial *Documentation can be uploaded & linked to grave
- Approval process completed before information is display on App
- Search for family member
- Obtaining copies of files *documentation
- All Role Players are registered on the App.
