How to book burial on muslimgraves.com

Navigate to booking option

To start the booking process, you must first select the cemetery the burial should be located at.

Navigate to “Book Burial”.

Next step is to select “Book Burial” from the menu options.

Book a Burial

From the “Book a Burial” menu you are required to complete the following details:

  • Select the type of burial.

  • Select Undertaker

  • Request date and time of burial.

Please note requested date and time of burial is not guaranteed and is dependant based on availability.
Cemetery Staff are only notified of burial once the burial booking has been submitted with required supporting documents

Informant Booking Process completed:

Once you have clicked “Book a Burial” you will receive a pop-up message to notify you that burial has been successfully created and that your selected undertaker will be notified. Additionally, please also check your email inbox for further communication.

Burial Edit

After creating the burial booking you will then be taken to burial edit screen in order for you to complete the following details:

  • Start: (Burial Details / Undertaker Proxy / Reopen Family grave

To reopen a grave, family authorisation will be required. To complete this step, you will need to download the affidavit template, complete it, and upload it on the system

  • Informant details: (Contact / ID – Passport)
    • Refer to HINTS below to find the address.
    • Refer to HINTS below to Upload documents.

  • Deceased details. (Personal / ID – Passport)
    • Refer to HINTS below to find the address.
    • Refer to HINTS below to Upload documents.

Deceased ID capturing will be hidden until deceased personal details are captured

  • Funeral (Funeral Details)

After completing the above sections, no further information is required from the informant. The funeral society will take further steps until the funeral is successfully completed

Cemetery staff might reject certain sections that need to be re-recorded or documents that need to be resubmitted. Once the corrections are made, the cemetery staff will complete the booking of the burial.

HINTS - How to find the address
When entering a street address, start with the city name and a comma (e.g., Cape Town,).

The application uses Google maps, pick the nearest suburb name to match the address.

HINTS - How to Upload documents
Download the app “Genius Scan” on your mobile. The app will enable individual and group photos and assist with the Upload function.

Enter the deceased name as per the RSA ID / Passport.

If the person is a revert to Islam, then enter the ID name & Muslim name as per the example:
